Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Hebrews 12::12-13

THE ADORATION OF THE ETERNAL SON OF GOD

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:7

One of the most popular “Christmas Carols” has a chorus which says “O come let us adore HIM, O come let us adore HIM, O come let us adore HIM, CHRIST the LORD.” Regardless of what one’s views of the celebration of the “holiday” called “Christmas”, may be, one cannot but delight in the sentiment of this chorus if one is indwelt by the SPIRIT of GOD. The adoration of CHRIST is the song of the ages and has filled the heavens from the beginning and shall ring forever in the courts of glory in the ages to come.

Many have been the errors of those who view the SON of GOD as a created being who by that very definition could not be said to be eternal. This is an egregious error which flies in the face of the scriptures which declare otherwise. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:1-5) It would be quite impossible for one to create himself in any understanding which men might have.

Thus, we are made to rejoice in HIM who created all things according to the good pleasure of HIS will and who has now revealed HIMSELF to the SONS of men in the person of JESUS CHRIST. HE alone is GOD and there is none else. HE has not come into being, but rather is HE who is the Great “I AM,” the self-existent ONE”, by whose hand all things have their being. HE is ONE with the FATHER, and the HOLY SPIRIT, neither of which can be seen. Yet CHRIST has tabernacled among us in the likeness of sinful flesh, yet without sin.

In this condescension, we see HIM manifesting HIMSELF as the REDEEMER of sinners. And in this appearance to declare the glory which is HIS from the beginning. “Ever possessed of Eternal BEING, robed in LIGHT which knew no dawn, long e’er time had its beginning stood our GOD with glory crowned.” Many would have us believe that HE merely set the world in motion and then sat back and waited to see what would become of it. It does not take a great deal of intelligence to realize that such an “experiment” would soon devolve into chaos without any certainty whatsoever. Yet it is clear from the scriptures that HE has determined to save a people which were chosen “in CHRIST” before the world began. (see Eph.1:3-12)

Thus, we can surely say that HE was the SAVIOR of sinners, before there was ever a sinner. HE came into the world, born of a virgin mother, for this very purpose as the LORD told Joseph, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Mat 1:21) Those who balk at the notion that the LORD is the PREDESTINATOR of all events must sit silently by as this scripture is read and its glorious truth resonates in the minds of those who rejoice in HIM, who does all things according to the good pleasure of HIS will.

The glorious word of truth, recorded for us in the pages of the Bible, centers upon its ETERNAL AUTHOR and HIS eternal purpose. From the beginning to the end, HE has ordained to have glory from HIS creation in this one theme. “CHRIST JESUS came into the world to save sinners.” HE has demonstrated HIS faithfulness to that people which HE chose in CHRIST, as HE singled out the Earthly nation of Israel as a type and foreshadow of that Elect Bride. This was a mystery which HE kept hidden until the time appointed to reveal that they are not all Israel which are of Israel and he is a Jew whose circumcision is not in the flesh but in the heart. “Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel.” (Eph 3:4-6) This is all done unto the glory of HIM who must be worshipped. “That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (1Cor 1:31)

The ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of GOD has been eternally adored by HIS FATHER and HE has the SPIRIT of GOD without measure. (see John 3:34) “Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him.” (Prov 8:30) “Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” (Isa 42:1) “And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.” (Luke 3:22)

The Eternal SON of GOD has been and is, adored by those heavenly creatures who were created for this sole purpose. Isaiah saw them in the year that King Uzziah died: “And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isa 6:3) John saw the same from the Isle of Patmos. “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” (Rev 4:8)

The Glorious SON of GOD is adored by HIS creation. “the morning stars sang together”.The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” (Isa 55:12) at the unfolding of HIS redemptive work. “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth. Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein. Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.” (1Chron 16:31-33) “And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.” (Psa 89:5)

The spotless LAMB of GOD, is rightly adored by those whom HE has called from darkness to LIGHT. “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2Cor 4:5-6) They sing unto HIM a “new song” for HE has taken away their stony heart and given them a soft heart of flesh. “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” (Rev 5:9-12)

The ETERNAL REDEEMER is adored by those whom HE has redeemed through the ages to come. “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” (Eph 2:4-7) HE will have glory from those whom HE has bought with the price of HIS own blood poured out at Calvary and sprinkled upon the stones of Gethsemane. “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” (Rev 19:6-9) Do you adore HIM?
